And this is what it looked like when we first planted this bed in 2008:
By 2009, it was looking better but still. Then:
(can you tell the where the propane delivery guy sunk into our new grass? Thanks buddy)
....and now (not the same time period since more blooms in the 'before' picture. And I no longer have delphiniums. Damn I miss them!):
In reviewing our yard's history, I found there are several plants that have since met their maker that I miss dearly.... Foxglove, Dianthus, Lupines, some nameless purple phlox-looking flower and most of all Delphiniums:I know what's on my wish list for next year.

Absolutely beautiful photos! Those delphinium are gorgeous, and so are the lupines.
I just love before and after pictures, and what a lovely change your garden has undergone! And yes, I have delphinium lust as well--yours were gorgeous! They have been pretty fussy for me to grow in my garden, I have to continually protect them from getting eaten by slugs, and then they are only short-lived perennials, but I can't help myself--you love what you love, right? Have a great weekend!
I am just so happy to see that you have linked in this week...and to have the chance to visit here today!! I thank you so much for linking in and sharing your post with my party today!
I have shared your post this week with the Tootsie Time Facebook page.
Have a wonderful week...what is left of it! lol

Tracy, sorry I haven't been here, but so glad you are! I'll be back to blogging this winter. When the ground is frozen and I have no gardening to do!
Diane
